Perfectly Grilled Shrimp / Prawns
Ingredients
- Deveined shrimp or prawns - 1 pound /450 grams
- Flavorless oil - 1 tbsp + more for grilling
- Baking soda- 1/2 tsp
- Sugar - 1/2 tsp
- Salt- 1 tsp
- Garlic powder - 1 tbsp
- Onion powder - 1 tbsp
- Black Pepper - 1 tsp
Skewers as needed(Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes.)

Air-fryer Method:
1. Place the shrimp in a bowl and add the baking soda and salt. Mix well.
2. Next, mix in the sugar and set the shrimp aside for 10 minutes.
3. Now add in the garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper, mixing well.
4. Take 2 skewers and poke one through each side of the shrimp. Be sure to leave some space on the each side of the skewer.
5. Brush the shrimp with 1 tbsp of oil.
6. Pre-heat air fryer at 450ºF (232ºC). Air-fry at 450 ºF for 6-8 minutes, flipping the skewers halfway through the cook time. Cooking time may vary depending on oven.
7. The shrimp are ready to serve!
Grill Method:
1. Place the shrimp in a bowl and add the baking soda and salt. Mix well.
2. Next, mix in the sugar and set the shrimp aside for 10 minutes.
3. Now add in the garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper, mixing well.

6. Heat the grill to 700 ºF (372ºC).
7. Brush the grill with oil and cook for3-4 minutes, flipping halfway through the cook time.
8. The shrimp are ready to serve!
